I like you, but you don't like me

A few days late, but learn to deal. Thursday night I went to see Wanker play, and it was most excellent. This is a band I used to see regularly back in the late 80s, early 90s, and I'm delighted they're back to a somewhat regular performance schedule, since I always heard about their annual "reunion" shows after the fact. They still play the same clever and catchy masturbation and sex themed songs, and their live performance is still a ironically hip cross between The New York Dolls and Poison. I enjoyed the performance greatly, and was able to pickup "The Total Wanker" CD, which contains the whole contents of their previously only on cassette 2 EPs and 1 full-length, plus a few extras. In an odd twist of fate, my friend Flasshe's brother-in-law is now playing bass for them. He's someone I know only slightly, but we're at least nodding acquaintances, and he did do the sound at the only outside the rehearsal space performance of the band I used to be in with Flasshe, at my 25th birthday party.

I'm enjoying The Frames new album very much. It's my first 2005 purchase, and I'm feeling mildly guilty over not posting my favorites of last year, but I think maybe a best of 2004 list will seem fresh and exciting again in a few more weeks.
